Vittorio Senatore holds a master’s degree in industrial biotechnology (2021) from Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca. He is currently finishing a PhD at the same university, where his research focuses on the valorization of food waste and upcycling of PET plastics through synthetic biology, and metabolic and process engineering.
During his PhD, Vittorio won five travel grants and presented his work at two international conferences, as well as to the non-Saccharomyces yeast community on two separate occasions. He has also tutored three master’s and two bachelor’s students, while also working as a laboratory tutor for the Synthetic Biology for Microbial Biotechnology course.
As co-founder of Biomycs, a biotech start-up, Vittorio is dedicated to driving innovation in sustainable biomanufacturing. His international experience includes a research collaboration with Tallinn University of Technology, where he advanced his expertise in microbial fermentation and bioreactor processes. Beyond academia, Vittorio works as a freelance graphic designer on Fiverr, specializing in scientific visual communication.
