Antonia Pacaccio holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from Università degli studi di Milano-Bicocca (2024). She is currently working as a master thesis student at IndBioTech Lab on a project concerning the production of pigments for the textile industry via metabolic engineering applied to yeasts.
Her internship, in collaboration with John Morrissey research group from University College Cork, focuses on expanding Kluyveromyces marxianus biosynthetic toolbox with new integration sites and a marker-free system.
Her main research interests are synthetic biology and metabolic engineering for secondary metabolites production in yeasts. She is also a FEMS junior member from 2025.
