Claudio Donà holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology (2023) from the University of Milano-Bicocca and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Industrial Biotechnology at the same institution.

His Master’s thesis focuses on the study and optimization of cultivation conditions of Komagataeibacter sucrofermentans for the production of bacterial cellulose, with particular emphasis on its functionalization through the incorporation of N-acetylglucosamine and post-production enzymatic modifications.

His research interests include microbial biotechnology, bioprocess optimization and the development of functional biomaterials, with a strong focus on sustainable processes and the valorization of alternative and waste-derived substrates.
