Design of environmental friendly rubber composites driven by biodegradability assessment; PhD fellowship founded by Pirelly tyre S.p.A.

Design and microbial production of natural metabolites for agro-industrial applications; Postdoctoral Research Fellow founded by  Sipcam Oxon S.p.A.

Daniela Bucchieri holds a PhD in Material Science and Nanotechnology (2023) from Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca in partnership with Pirelli Tyre S.p.A., where she studied rubber compound degradation.

Currently, Daniela is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the same university, collaborating with Sipcam Oxon S.p.A. on the microbial production of natural metabolites for agro-industrial applications.

During her PhD, Daniela earned two travel grants to attend international yeast conferences and participated in summer schools on polymer valorization via biotechnological approaches.
She supervised four bachelor’s and two master’s students.

Her international experience includes a year at BOKU University, where she completed her master’s thesis on Aspergillus niger physiology, and a four-month PhD stint at Chalmers University of Technology, refining her high-throughput screening skills. There, she studied microbial growth on natural rubber as a sole carbon source, advancing expertise in bio-based material applications.
