Leonardo Maria Colnaghi holds a Bachelor’s in Biotechnology (2023) and a Master’s in Industrial Biotechnology (2025) from the University of Milan–Bicocca.
During his Master’s thesis, he worked as an intern at CPC Biotech® S.R.L., a company specialized in the production of analytical enzymes, optimizing recombinant protein expression systems focusing on molecular cloning, bacterial cultivation, enzymatic assays, and protein purification in different bacterial species, such as Escherichia coli and Klebsiella spp.

He is currently undertaking a post-graduate research internship, working within an industrial project in collaboration with Ohly GmbH, a leading producer of yeast extracts. His project investigates the impact of yeast-derived nutrients on yeast-based bioprocesses and includes the study and characterization of wild type and recombinant yeast cultures at different scale; from microliter scale to 2-liter scale in controlled bioreactors.
